The Symptom-Ingredient Connection

Explore the ingredients for each symptom

Digestive Issues

Symptom:

Digestive issues can arise when the liver is not functioning optimally, affecting how nutrients are processed and overall digestive health. This imbalance can lead to discomforts like bloating, constipation, and indigestion.

How Ingredient Helps:

Milk Thistle is traditionally used to support liver health, which plays a role in the body’s natural detoxification process. By enhancing healthy liver function, it supports bile production [3], a key factor in healthy digestion and relief from bloating, constipation, and indigestion. It may help support digestion and overall gastrointestinal comfort as part of maintaining general wellness.

Skin Problems

Symptom:

Poor liver function can lead to skin problems like acne, pimples, dark eye circles, as well as yellow and itchy skin due to the liver’s reduced ability to detoxify and clear impurities from the body. This build up of toxins can affect blood circulation and skin health, leading to inflammation, dullness, and irritation.

How Ingredient Helps:

Silymarin, the active compound in Milk Thistle, provides antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties [4] that help support skin comfort and overall skin health. By soothing irritated skin and reducing redness, it
can help contribute to maintaining a healthy complexion as part of general wellbeing.

Poor Sleep Quality

Symptom:

Poor sleep quality often stems from disruptions in the body's internal timing. The liver is crucial for managing the hormones and neurotransmitters that govern your circadian rhythm (sleep-wake cycle). When the liver is compromised, this critical balance is lost, leading to fragmented sleep, difficulty falling asleep, and a lack of the restorative rest needed for daytime energy.

How Ingredient Helps:

Our formula uses Milk Thistle, rich in silymarin and silybin, for targeted support. Milk Thistle assists the liver in two key ways:

  1. Stabilizing Internal Rhythms: It helps the liver efficiently regulate hormones, promoting a stable circadian rhythm and a natural, timely transition to sleep.
  2. Enhancing Night time Recovery: By supporting the liver's natural detoxification and filtering processes, Milk Thistle ensures a smoother, more effective internal recovery overnight.

This holistic support leads directly to achieving deeper, more restful sleep, which translates to improved daytime energy and overall vitality.

Drinkers/ Hangovers

Symptom:

Drinking alcohol puts significant stress on the liver, as it must metabolize and detoxify alcohol and its harmful substances. This can damage liver cells and impair liver function, leading to hangover symptoms like fatigue, headaches, and digestive discomfort.

How Ingredient Helps:

Alcohol can place stress on the liver and may affect the liver’s normal functions. Milk Thistle, especially it’s silymarin and silybin content [5], has been shown to protect liver cells from toxins, promote cell regeneration, and speed up recovery from hangovers and alcohol-related liver stress.

Weak Immunity/ Frequent Flu

Symptom:

Weak immunity and frequent flu can result from poor liver function, as the liver plays a key role in regulating immune responses and maintaining balance. When liver function is impaired, the body's ability to defend against infections is reduced, making it more susceptible to illness.

How Ingredient Helps:

The liver supports the immune system by producing immune proteins and filtering toxins. Milk Thistle, with its active compounds silymarin and silybin, has antioxidant properties [5], protects against toxin damage, and supports natural detoxification, which may boost overall immune function and could alleviate symptoms of flu.

Poor Digestive Health

Symptom:

Poor digestive health causes symptoms like constipation, diarrhoea, and bloating, which result from irregular bowel movements and excess gas build up. These discomforts indicate that digestion and waste elimination are not functioning smoothly.

How Ingredient Helps:

BB536 help restore healthy gut flora, promoting regular bowel movements [1] and reducing digestive discomfort like constipation, diarrhoea, and bloating. Prebiotics HMO and inulin can support the beneficial activity of these probiotics, further relieve digestive issues and enhance gut function.

Weakened Immune Defences & Allergy Sensitivity

Symptom:

Our gut plays a crucial role in supporting and regulating the immune system. An imbalance in gut bacteria can weaken immune defences and increase sensitivity to allergens, making the body more prone to infections and allergic reactions.

How Ingredient Helps:

A healthy gut is crucial for immune regulation. BB536 may help to decrease the frequency of respiratory infections [2,6] and, together with HMO that favours the growth of BB536, helps reduce symptoms of mild allergies. These ingredients boost immune health by nurturing beneficial gut bacteria.

Poor Mental Clarity & Unstable Mood

Symptom:

A healthy gut supports the brain by producing substances that boost focus and regulate emotions. When gut health is poor, it can cause brain fog, forgetfulness, and mood swings.

How Ingredient Helps:

Gut health is closely linked to the brain through the gut-brain axis [3]. By restoring a healthy microbiome balance, Probiotic BB536 [8] in the ProbioGut can improve sleep quality, mood and stress management.

Unstable Body Weight Management

Symptom:

Struggling to manage body weight can result from imbalances in gut health and metabolism. When the gut is not functioning optimally, it can disrupt appetite control, energy use, and nutrient absorption, making it harder to maintain a healthy weight.

How Ingredient Helps:

ProbioGut contains Bifidobacterium Breve B3, a patented HRB strain from Japan, that helps promote healthy weight management by helping to regulate fat metabolism and reduce body fat mass [4,9].

Fluctuations in Blood Sugar and Cholesterol

Symptom:

Unstable blood sugar or cholesterol levels occur when the body's metabolism and gut health are imbalanced. This can affect how the body processes glucose and fats, leading to fluctuations that impact overall health.

How Ingredient Helps:

Bifidobacterium Breve B3 [4,5] and Inulin [7] contribute to balancing sugar and cholesterol levels [4] by influencing metabolic process in the gut, supporting overall metabolic health.

Key Ingredients and Purity

Livrin contains Milk Thistle Extract, renowned for its liver-supporting properties. This extract, derived from the seeds of the milk thistle plant, is rich in flavonoids and silymarin compounds.

Silymarin, found in Livrin's Milk Thistle Extract, is a powerful compound known for its liver-protective effects. It supports liver health by promoting detoxification and protecting liver cells from damage caused by toxins and free radicals. Livrin harnesses the benefits of silymarin to promote overall well-being and liver function.

Silybin A & B, components of Livrin's Milk Thistle Extract, are potent antioxidants that play a crucial role in liver health. These compounds, part of the silymarin complex, support liver function by protecting against oxidative stress and inflammation. Livrin utilizes silybin A & B to promote detoxification and enhance the overall well-being of the liver.

Frequently Asked Questions

Livrin

Thomson Livrin, with its high concentration of milk thistle extract, could potentially help protect your kidneys due to the benefits of silymarin. However, its primary purpose is as a liver tonic, and it is not a substitute for medical treatment. You should always consult with a doctor or a qualified healthcare professional before taking any supplement for a specific health issue.

Milk thistle is generally considered safe for people with high cholesterol, with some studies suggesting potential benefits. Its active compound, silymarin, may help reduce total and "bad" LDL cholesterol, particularly in those with type 2 diabetes. By supporting the liver's role in processing cholesterol, milk thistle may indirectly contribute to healthier cholesterol levels.

Despite its potential, caution is necessary. Consult a healthcare professional before taking milk thistle, especially if on cholesterol-lowering medications like statins. This is because it could interact with these drugs, affecting how the liver metabolizes them and potentially altering their effectiveness.

Taking Milk Thistle once a week is too infrequent to provide therapeutic benefits. Because the body processes Silymarin quickly, a weekly dose is broken down and excreted within about a day [7,8], leaving your liver "unprotected" for the rest of the week. When you skip doses, any progress made in reducing inflammation or liver stress "resets". Without daily use, the supplement cannot build up a consistent, protective level in your bloodstream to trigger long-term repair.

While our Livrin supplement is not suitable for vegetarians due to its bovine capsule, you can still get the full benefits by simply opening the capsule and consuming the powdered extract. This allows you to easily incorporate our high-quality milk thistle extract into your vegetarian lifestyle.

ProbioGut

Yes, HRB probiotics are origin from human or infant gut, therefore children above 2 years old are suitable to take it. The recommended dose for children in this age group is one sachet per day.

The time frame for probiotics to work varies depending on your individual health condition and how consistently you take them. Generally, most people notice improvements in bowel movements and digestive comfort within 1 to 4 weeks of regular Probiogut use.

ProbioGut is generally safe for consumption during pregnancy. However, as a precaution, we always advise pregnant women to consult their doctor or healthcare provider before starting any new supplement.

It is generally recommended to take Probiogut after completing your course of antibiotics. This helps restore a healthy gut microbiota and ensures the probiotics are effective, rather than being diminished by the antibiotics. For best results, start probiotics once antibiotic treatment is finished.
